A Weblog about my coaching work and practice , original poetry and other experiences, including whatever seems to strike my fancy and which hopefully will strike yours….
Welcome to everyone! Here I go, plunging down the rabbit hole and through the looking glass into the mysterious, but wondrous world of weblogs. I am still a bit challenged in my cyber skills , and may even get temporarily lost or sidetracked along the way as I watch the road signs in my brain pass by at a rapid speed. It may take me a while to find my path and to figure out what to do in developing and building on this, but I hope you will bear with me until I do. If I knew where to purchase a blogging gps to advise me in a robot voice of what I need to do and how to do it, I would. The other option is to ask a teenager to help me learn the lay of the land, and maybe I will do that. I think you will find some insights and new perspectives here and most of all, will be able to get a feel for the kind of person I am and how I can best help you. I hope my realness and authenticity will shine through for you.
I began this blog as part of my work at The International Coach Academy, (www.ica.com) and for building my coaching practice in life transitions and career coaching, I will try to exhibit my coach-like qualities and will be as resourceful and creative as I can. I expect to make some technical mistakes as a relative beginner in the blogging universe, but as we say in the coaching field, will shift my perspectives and will make opportunities out of my early blog-fumbles and mistakes. Since I have been known in my personal life as one who has often made “lemonade out of lemons”, this might not be such unfamiliar territory to me after all.
Although I have done some coaching for many years, I am proud and happy to have earned my credential now as a Certified Professional Coach. I am working now on developing my primary web site, and will eventually transfer over this blog.
It’s time to wrap this up, since in a few hours I will greet the new day in my familiar role as licensed adoption agency director. Some of you already know me in that role that has been a huge part of my life for 28 years since I first founded this well-known Connecticut licensed non-profit adoption agency. Some know me in my role as a student of the art and discipline of coaching. Others know me best as a mother, grandmother and poet/writer. I hope that as this blog unfolds and grows, it will serve to document my process and experiences, as well as various other things happening in my life. I hope it will do so in a way that causes me to reflect more than I might otherwise. I will be pleased if additionally, it causes some readers to uncover a couple of interesting and bright sea glass thought-treasures they can put up on a shelf, examine, and perhaps enjoy

Hi Iris,
I have enjoyed your presence and insightful comments on various teleclasses we have been on together! Your blog looks wonderful! You have dived much further into technicalities than I have yet done, and created a nice feel for “you”. I also love your poetry and am glad you share it here (otherwise I might not have seen it). Wow!
“See” you soon in class!
I just got my blog up and running, and though it hardly has anything on it, I will be adding every week. Please do check it out, and let me know what you think! It has been learning curve..
Regards,
Louisa (from California)
